Creative Machines – Trove at The Event

Birmingham has a thriving young visual arts scene, with a growing number of galleries and collectives producing intriguing exhibitions and collaborations. One of these is The Event, and we were excited to be involved (in our own Studio BC way) by creating visuals for TROVE’s contribution.

TROVE are a contemporary art programme with a knack of finding unusual and atmospheric spaces within which to exhibit a varied selection of multidisciplinary artists. We met the TROVE team a few years ago in their first space, sited in the old Science and Industry Museum in Birmingham City Centre, and have eagerly followed their exploits ever since.

Trove’s new show ‘Creative Machines / Minimalist Sculpture’ opens today (21/11/2011) in the now disused Curzon Street Station. You’ll find our advert in the map for The Event. We decided that the visuals for Trove should echo both the ideas of ‘Creative Machines’ whilst also reflecting the strong industrial heritage of our local area – creating a successful strong visual identity for the exhibition.

Many other arts groups are involved in the Event across Birmingham from 21 – 30 October – theres loads going on – so go find some culture! You can read more about Trove’s show here.
